BACTERIOLOGICAL SAMPLING FAILURE FOR
HANS FAHDEN VINEYARDS

Our water system failed to conduct the required routine bacteriological sampling during February 2026, pursuant to the regulations, and, therefore, was in violation of the regulations. Even though this failure was not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we did to correct this situation.

What happened?

We are required to monitor your drinking water for total coliform bacteria by collecting at least one water sample every month and testing it for bacteria. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During February 2026, we failed to conduct bacteriological sampling of the drinking water. Therefore, we cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

What should I do?

There is nothing you need to do at this time. If you have health issues concerning the consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor.

What are we doing to correct this situation?

Hans Fahden Vineyards has taken the following corrective actions to address the missed bacteriological sampling in February 2026:

A bacteriological sample was collected on March 3, 2026 and submitted to Brelje and Race Laboratories, Inc. (Santa Rosa, CA). No total coliform or E. coli bacteria were detected, indicating the water meets bacteriological standards.
Routine monthly sampling has resumed.
A compliance calendar with automated reminders has been implemented to ensure all required monitoring deadlines are met.
Responsibility for sampling and reporting has been clearly assigned to designated personnel, with procedures in place to ensure timely completion.
We will continue to review our compliance procedures and, where appropriate, coordinate with qualified environmental consultants to support ongoing regulatory compliance.
