2016 Zinfandel

Vineyard and Winemaking

Our first Zinfandel, hails from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. An ideal year, with some Spring rains followed by a dry and moderate Summer yielded beautiful grapes. We hand harvested on September 19, 2016 and gently destemmed the grapes to open top bins where the fermentation ensued. After a long fermentation the grapes were pressed directly to barrels, 33% new American Oak. After 2 years in barrel the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bottled a limited 77 cases.

Tasting Notes

Opens with perfumed notes of dried raspberries, pomegranate, molasses, bramble, and candied black licorice. The silky palate follows with notes of rich mocha, blackberry and raspberry, with hints of Herbs de Provence, vanilla, and cola spice. Tasting beautiful now, our 16 Zin will age nicely over the next 3 to 7 years.
