2018 Viognier

Gold Medal Winner | Sonoma County Harvest Fair

Vineyard and Winemaking

For our 2018 Viognier we sought out one of the finest vineyards for Viognier in the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, Tzabaco Rancho. A great growing year, with a nice moderate summer, allowed us to hand harvest on September 11, 2018. After arriving at the winery the grapes were whole cluster pressed to tank. A cool fermentation started in tank and then moved to barrel where the fermentation completed. The wine was stirred weekly for about 6 weeks until filtering and bottling 124 cases.

Tasting Notes

Very floral notes of orange blossom, honey, pineapple, peach, jump out of the glass followed by hints of maple, fresh apple, and candied lemon. The juicy palate follows with notes of pineapple, quince, orange marmalade, lemon, with a touch of maple and vanilla cream. Tasting super nice now, our 2018 Viognier should age and become more complex over the next 2-5 years.
