2019 Rosé
VINEYARD AND WINEMAKING
We are so happy to bring to you our first Rosé from 2019. This Rosé was made entirely in the saignée method. Right after our red grapes, in this case 40% Malbec and 60% Pinot Noir, were added to their respective tanks, a small portion of the juice was removed. This is a synergistic way to make a Rosé, firstly giving you some lightly colored juice for a rose, and secondly increasing the skin to juice ratio in the red wines – in effect amplifying the reds. After the juice was removed it was cool fermented in the same way white wine is made. After about 6 months in barrel the wine was moved to tank, filtered, then bottled. Bottled 115 cases.
TASTING NOTES
Our first Rosé starts off with a bang, with aromas of fresh strawberry, watermelon, guava, with touches of cranberry, cherry soda, and ripe plum. The palate follows with fruit forward notes of ripe strawberry, cherry, pomegranate, along with hints of red licorice and boysenberry jam. Our 2019 Rose is tasting super now and will continue to reward over the coming year. Super food friendly, enjoy with eveerything form Asian to BBQ.
